• Three Tab Shingles are the original asphalt shingle. Designed to share the appearance of slate roofing shingles, Three Tab Shingles maintain a flat profile with a uniform cut every twelve inches. This is the most simple asphalt shingle design and is the least costly shingle we install. While it is the most price conscientious option, it comes with a 25 year manufacturer’s limited warranty to keep your mind at ease for years to come.
• Architectural Shingles are made up of the same material as a three tab shingles but the aesthetics (and sometimes coverage warranties) have been kicked up a notch. While the entry level architectural shingles are competitively priced with three tab shingles; the highest end architectural shingles can be as much as three times the price of a three tab shingle after installation. Architectural shingles are offered in 30 year, 40 year and 50 year limited lifetime warranties.

• Machine Cut Cedar Shingles are produced from high quality Canadian Cedar, milled and taper sawn to reveal a smooth shingle face. Slate is a particularly strong rock that is quarried from the earth. Once slabs are extracted from the ground, it is cut to the desired length and width and split along its natural cleavage lines. Because it is quarried and not manufactured, every piece of slate is slightly different. Some customers prefer the similar color, size and thickness while others desire a wide array of colors, thicknesses and widths. Unlike most shingles, metal roofs can be used on both steep and shallow sloped roof areas. Residentially, metal roofs are most often seen accompanying a more traditional roof system. Asphalt, cedar or slate shingle roof systems are commonly paired with a metal roof for lower pitched, visible roof areas. Metal roofs can be made out of a number of different metals including steel, aluminum, copper and lead-coated copper. Additionally, a metal roof can be formed and installed as a standing seam roof or as a pan seam roof.

• Standing Seam metal roofs are typically made by bending up the edges of an 18” wide length of coil stock metal so that the edges are perpendicular to the main piece. Once in place, the top portion of each adjacent panel edge are folded together to create interlocking channels for the water to run down. A standing seam roof is ideal for nearly all types of roofs with the exception of extremely low pitched roofs.
• Pan Seam metal roofs are made by cutting several pieces of metal into 18”x24” rectangles and then folding the edges over parallel to the main piece. These pieces are then interlocked and heavily soldered to resist all water penetration completely. A pan seam roof is ideal for a nearly flat roof that disallows for water to run off easily.

Most flat roofs are found on commercial buildings; however, numerous residential pitched roofs also have flat roof areas that are a part of the entire roofing system. In these extremely low sloped areas, water tends to flow more freely as it works its way towards the drain, thus a completely impenetrable surface needs to be installed.
